I’m Krista. A therapist, but first and always, a human who knows what it’s like to hold things in.

Maybe you’ve spent years holding it together on the outside, showing up and pushing through, while something quieter underneath keeps pulling at you. Maybe you’ve been called “strong” so often that you stopped noticing what it costs to stay that way.

I understand that, not just from training, but from lived experience. Therapy was the first place I didn’t have to perform strength. It was where I could slow down and actually feel what was underneath it. That’s why this work matters to me. That’s why Beneath the Noise exists.

This isn’t about fixing you. It’s about making space for the parts of you that had to stay quiet in order to cope. We won’t rush them. We won’t force anything open. But we will be honest. We’ll pay attention to what’s been carrying too much for too long, and begin to understand it together.

FAQs

  • My approach is warm, collaborative, person-centred, and trauma-informed. I don’t sit in silence while you guess what I’m thinking; I’m engaged, thoughtful, and steady. We go at your pace, gently exploring what’s happening underneath the noise and what you’ve been carrying for a long time.

  • Because that’s where the real work happens.

    Beneath the overwhelm.
    Beneath the coping.
Beneath the pressure to hold everything together.
Beneath the noise of who you were told you should be: there’s you.

    Not a perfect version.
    Not a fixed version.
Just something more honest. More grounded. More human.

  • I’m a BACP-accredited psychotherapist with an MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy. Alongside my core training, I’ve completed additional training in trauma, grief, and relational approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.

My clinical experience spans working with adults and young people across a wide range of settings; private practice, schools, charities, corporate environments, mental health services, and community organisations. This work has included supporting people through trauma, relationship difficulties, ADHD and neurodivergence, grief, anxiety, and long-term emotional patterns.

I hold an enhanced DBS check and full insurance for private practice.
My current practice is based in Ancoats, Manchester, offering therapy to individuals and couples both in-person and online across the UK.

If you’ve been holding things in for a long time, you don’t have to keep doing that on your own.
